In 1908 the writer and journalist Ferran Agulló christened the Girona coastline with the name Costa Brava. Since then, this rugged land bathed by the Mediterranean has been a magnet for artists, intellectuals and politicians, along with thousands of ordinary people who have helped to transform the area and raise its profile at home and abroad.
This section focuses on the early years of the Costa Brava and its evolution/transformation from 1908 to the present day. The figure of Ferran Agulló, whose article was published in La Veu de Catalunya newspaper, is thus placed in context.
