The Costa Brava is made up of the coastline of three Catalan counties (Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and La Selva) which contain a scenic, architectural, historical and cultural heritage with a strong personality. Despite displaying strong traces of their seafaring past, the twenty-two towns of the Costa Brava have been capable of adapting, more or less successfully, to the huge changes brought about by the tourism boom of the mid 1970s. Now, in the 21st century, they are undergoing a new transformation to become modern towns that preserve their immediate past.
The Centenary Route
With the aim of promoting the main spots of the Costa Brava that have played an important role over its one hundred years of history, the Centenary Route enables visitors to discover, whether on foot or by car, places like Cap de Creus, Sant Pere de Rodes, Cadaqués, Empúries, Peralada or Tossa de Mar, along with many other unique spots.
